Well, here I am again. Gradually settling into life at Plymouth road, and resuming writing, as well as a bit of editing.

More Coldtouch and Dark

My Novel, Coldtouch and Dark, seems to be gradually coming together. There's still going to be some horrible cutting to do, but draft three now has it all: Romance, magic, drama, detection, can-can. Well, maybe not can-can, but only because can-can is hard to do in written form.

Choop choop.

New Year's Eve Update
Wednesday, December 31, 2008, 15:07 - Word Count Update
Posted by Administrator
Hi all. Seem to have got over my twenty-thousand word hump, and am now back in writing mode again. Wordcount as stands; 40577.
Woo woo!
Still going to be a lot of re-drafting to do, but I'm cracking on now.
I also suspect I'm going to have to do some truly vicious cutting at draft four stage.

I'm beginning to get in the frame of mind to look for manuscript reviewers. I've got a few people in mind, and I'll be e-mailing you all soonish.
Cheers, Merry Christmas and Happy New Year.
Sam B

*EDIT* Draft One Stage? Moron.

Hi all.Got up to 24500 words tonight.
In other news, this blog now looks very pretty, unless you're using IE6, in which case see the footer!

30,000 words, FTW!

Got the thing over that thirty-thousand word hump today, despite losing my way between two chapters. Also, written the single most unpleasant sequence of the book so far.
Hopefully, will polish up nicely in next draft. (Final draft? Who knows? Will this thing ever be good enough?)
Am tired, too tired for prepositions.
Peace
Sam B

Novel and site content, cracking on with.

Hi all. As you've no doubt noticed, i now have a shiny menu up top which will take you to all the old content (Apart from the chat function, which i have yet to re-implement.

In other mnews, I've been cracking on with the novel, and am now at 25510 words. Not much progress since the last update, but progress, nevertheless. Now that the core functionality of the site is up and running again, I've got more time to get back to the serious business of writing.
Also, it's been suggested that I'm a bit more sensible about the novel, publishing excerpts and inviting people to review, to build up a kind of publicity. This is from Rob C, who will soon be published and who is therefore a grown up writer!
I think it's a good idea. look out for a dedicated Coldtouch and Dark page soon, with excerpts and a preview area (Which may be passworded.)
End Communication!
